When you are teaching a toddler boy go potty keep in mind that he is just learning, his aim will be off and initially he may also dribble, so there is a good chance of over spray and mess. For this reason, if you may decide to teach your son to stand when urinating, you will want him to learn in the bathroom.

Be prepared to do some extra cleaning in the bathroom and around the toilet bowel for a while until your toddler learns to aim.

Using a urinal, like the Potty Scotty Weeman, can help cut down on that mess because it is just their size, and easy to get up close to and use. Check out all of our Urinals for Boys!

How does it work?

The Potty Scotty Weeman is a toilet training urinal targeted for 1 to 4 year olds. It clips on to the front of a normal sized toilet, allowing small boys to urinate whilst standing up unaided, 'just like dad'.

It is attached to the toilet via a hinge, which allows the Weeman to be swung up and over the toilet bowl and into the toilet, where it empties. The toilet is then flushed the normal way, with the Weeman remaining inside the bowl where it is washed. After it has been 'flushed', it is then swung back over to hang onto the outside of the toilet bowl until it is next used. It is not necessary to actually remove it from the toilet.

The Weeman's cleaning action helps train boys to lift the seat up, and put the lid down when finished. The 300 gram molded urinal is made from polystyrene, a liquid repelling plastic.

  • "Weeman" simply clips onto your toilet bowl.
  • The design incorporates a "living hinge" which has been tested to 1 million actions and is unconditionally guaranteed.
  • The bowl has been designed to hold your child's full bladder

Inspiration:

Terry was babysitting when his grandson announced he needed to go to the toilet, and that he wanted to go standing up. Terry's protestations that his grandson was too small went unheard, and Terry ended up having to hold him over the toilet while he wee-ed.

Terry later asked his daughter what devices he could buy so that his grandson could go to the toilet standing up on future visits, and discovered the perfect solution didn't exist. Terry says, "My grandson wanted to stand up to go to the toilet like me, but found it difficult to balance on the stool and aim correctly. When he was tired, he would half fall off". So Terry invented the Weeman.

How To Decide which clip will fit your toilet:

Because of the different size and shape of toilet bowls we now offer 2 different size clips.

The standard which is 2 1/4" long and the new larger size which is 2 7/8" long. Below are the 2 clips side by side.

Check before you buy (Sep 07, 2010) Reviewer: Jana Gurley

I am unable to fully rate this product b/c we were unable to put it to use due to the urinal clip not fitting our toilet. Make sure you check to see if the clip will fit the rim on your toilet or this product will be useless to you. The clip provided is too small for deeper rimmed toilets.

Potty Training Concepts Reply: The Weeman Potty Training Urinal is in fact only designed for normal sized toilets as noted in the description of the product. If in fact this product is purchased and the clip does not fit, please contact us and let us know because we do offer larger clips when the original clips do not fit.

Praise for your Program! (Nov 28, 2008) Reviewer: James & Deborah Kingsmill Your program is just WONDERFUL! Before we purchased it, our three year old son would have nothing to do with the potty. If we put him on it he would literally scream. I was skeptical to say the least that your program would train him in one day. The "big day" was a frustrating one. It seemed that it wasn't going to work. Then by day's end he was going on the potty and no more diapers ever since. We've had a few accidents since the big day, but they get less frequent with each day and somedays he doesn't have any! I can't tell you how pleased we were with your program. I have recommended you to every parent that I know! Thanks so much! James & Deborah Kingsmill Baytown, TX
Good Idea (Aug 30, 2011) Reviewer: Abbie I ordered this potty seat for my 13 month old. It fits our very short toilet seat (Tried others but none were short enough) The only problem was that is was warped when it arrived, as I read in another review. I just have it outside in the sun on a hard, flat surface with a heavy weight on it. Hopefully that'll bend it back. I'm still not dissapointed with the product though. It's still fully functioning.
WeeMan Urinal for boys (Sep 03, 2009) Reviewer: Kelly Ross Ok this is soo Cool but where else could you get it at??
PERFECT!!! (Feb 07, 2010) Reviewer: Lakesha This is the perfect training aide! It made my son feel like a big boy. From the FIRST DAY, my son was using this urinal, no training, no coaxing. This is a MUST HAVE!
have a few quirks but we still love it (Nov 09, 2010) Reviewer: Tara The urinal is just the right height for my son - he LOVES to go pee just like his daddy. It isn't totally secure on the toilet and you have to be very careful when dumping the pee out. Make sure to have some toilet wipes around to clean it out/off after each dump. Besides that we love it and I am glad that I purchased it!
GET ONE (Dec 09, 2008) Reviewer: Nanny My order of two of these for my grandson arrived this week. I used this to train my two year old grandson and like it says......it took one day. The second one was to be sent to his mothers for night use, but came with a defective piece, which I am sure will be replaced. This company has a fantastic product and fast quality shipping. There was no mess on the floor at all in use. The flusher is great fun for the child. I printed out one of their free potty charts and with this item had this child trained in one day. This is day three and NO accidents, it is just too fun for him to be a little man.
Safest way to pee standing up (Oct 27, 2014) Reviewer: J.S. I love the fact that my son can pee standing up without standing on a stool! He is 20 months old and very active with potty training. It is the perfect height. I like that it is white, so it matches the toilet and you can tell when it's clean. After all it is for going to the bathroom, not a toy. The only thing that I do not like about it is that it flies off when trying to empty it. So I have to hold the clip on when tilting it over or I have to gently remove it and then dump it. It is easy however to mop it out with some tissue after carefully picking it up to dump the pee in the toilet and can then be wiped with a disinfection wipe every now and then or washed in the sink with soap.
Great in the car or the boat! (Feb 06, 2011) Reviewer: twinmamamaven My twins turned 2 last month & it is great having this in the car (and in the summer on our boat)! Today they were both saying "poop, poop" when we were in the parking lot of the grocery store. So we pulled out the potty & let them go in the back of my SUV. Because it is cool right now, we just wrap a blanket around them. And the twins are SO proud walking to the trash can with their zip lock bag of, well you know. It would be nice if it had a splash thing for boys but we just try to "aim" our son in the correct direction.
LOVE IT!!!!! (Dec 12, 2011) Reviewer: Mom of Two Love this product! I had this for my first son and my only regret is that I didn't have it from the very start of potty training. Now buying for my second son who desperately wants to be like Dad and big brother.
Great Product (Dec 27, 2011) Reviewer: Felicia This is a great product. It took our son to day 2 to start using it and now he loves to pee and enjoys emptying the urinal himself.
Success Twice! (Nov 01, 2010) Reviewer: Jane Greenwood

We used this method with great success with our first two kids. Did it again with our 3rd and she got it pretty well, except for bowl movements and the book doesn't have much advice to offer, just that they'll get it because kids always pee when they poop.

Not this girl, she rarely pees and poos at the same time. She did pretty well the first week with only a handful of accidents. Now she is fully trained to pee in the potty, but poops in her pants about 4 out of 5 times. What do I do now? 10 practices in poopy pants is a huge mess of poop everywhere on the potty and her legs---yuck! I make her clean out the poopy training pants and have even tried cold sits baths.

What else can I do?

PTC Comment: Have you ever noticed if there is a timely pattern to her going poo? For example, after lunch, after nap, same time of the day, etc. If so, try to schedule her potty times at that time as well. Here is the name of an article that may also help you with this issue, it is called "Child Refused to go Poop in the Potty" .

Wish I'd bought it sooner! (Mar 29, 2010) Reviewer: Tara

I was skeptical but willing to try anything to step-up our potty training efforts for my not quite 3 year old girl.

Seriously, within 15 minutes of having Potty Patty out of the box, my little one showed Potty Patty how to do it and hopped on the potty chair and peed!!

We then took the weekend to focus and by the end of day 1, she's gone peeps and BM on the potty with only a naptime accident! THANK YOU!!!!!

We all love Potty Patty and the Potty Traing in One Day System. She proudly went to pre-school today in her "big girl panties". Yippeee!

We Love the Weeman Potty!! (Nov 23, 2008) Reviewer: Christian I would like to apologize for my lack of patience and trust. i received the weeman and it is so great. I have not received the lil marc however I am confident it will come soon. I am so happy with the weeman and it really works great I wish I could spread the word over here in my small community of baby boomers, it is a great product and it would surely sell well here. I don't even remove it from the toilet I leave attached on the seat and of course I remove to clean it however I leave on the seat and my husband and two teenage boys don't need to remove it when they utilize the toilet. I hope it is fine and we are not going to damage it by leaving attached at all times, I just feel that it is convenient to leave it on the toilet. Once again I am happy to receive that product.
(Jul 07, 2011) Reviewer: anonymous We love our WeeMan - in fact, I'm ordering more for our other two bathrooms. It fits on our toilet and my 2.5 yr old loves peeing standing up and unlike with a potty seat, he doesn't need our help using it.
(Jul 07, 2011) Reviewer: anonymous My litlle guy likes it! And if he wants to use it - the more the better! Keep clorox wipes near by!
Splash Guard (Jul 20, 2009) Reviewer: K I don't know why this is discontinued. I really need the splash guard if anyone has it.
(Jul 07, 2011) Reviewer: anonymous This thing works great. Perfect height for the toddler set. It's completely plastic so I'm not certain how long it will hold up; but the price is reasonable and another can easily be purchased. I'm a grandmother and care for my 2 grandsons a lot..this is a real back-saver.
best invention ever! (Jul 08, 2009) Reviewer: Tawnya This has saved me many times with 2 little girls that somehow have to "GO" whenever there is a outhouse around! GROSS! Thanks to whoever invented this one! Ps...I use the generic pads and bathroom garbage bags for the refills ...the breast pads are pretty expensive over time if you actually use this often!
why is this potty no longer for sale (Jul 08, 2009) Reviewer: amanda if any one haves one i will buy it
delightful (Nov 29, 2008) Reviewer: n/a My son is delighted at the fact of being "just like daddy" he loves to pee standing up. i taught him to stay close to he wouldn't have an accident and its perfect for his size!
(Jul 07, 2011) Reviewer: anonymous The idea of the hanging toilet potty is a good one, however it doesn't fit my standard toilet. It will not clip on properly and falls off.
Best Product for my son! (Dec 09, 2008) Reviewer: Relieved Dad My son has had hard time toilet training for many months. He has watched me (his Dad) use urinals at public restrooms and at home and wants to do it just like I do. He doesn't like to sit down on a toilet seat at all, but he is to short to stand up to urinate. After getting the weeman potty, he has had great success learning how to urinate, and he is even starting to not mind sitting. The weeman is a great success with him. He goes with me each time i go, and insists on doing it all himself. He is even showing off his urinary skills when his friends come over, even if they are girls. Thanks for the motivating product.
Waterproof, but... (Feb 12, 2009) Reviewer: Gina I bought several pairs of these for my toddler twins (boy/girl). They weigh about 33 pounds, so I bought the large. The elastic waist is too tight and hard for them to pull up and down on their own. The "body" of the underpants is very "balloon-like" and makes getting into their clothes difficult.
Great! (Dec 10, 2008) Reviewer: Trina This got my son interested in the potty again when I was just about to give up! He loves going potty right beside his daddy. He thinks he's so big now that he can go while standing. The only drawback is whenever I flip it up to empty it, it comes loose. I have to be careful not to dump the entire thing in the toilet. It still deserves 5 stars though!
Wonderful (Feb 12, 2009) Reviewer: Keri These potty seat covers are wonderful. I like them so much better than some of the character covers out there because of their size. They are wide enough that they drape over the sides of the potty-where my daughter ALWAYS puts her hands to hold on. With this cover her hands are NOT touching the potty, only the drape. They have adhesive tape on the back, so they don't slip off while I am trying to get my daughters pants down and her up onto the potty. I must admit from experience...they are great for adults too. They are easy to carry and VERY convenient. This is my second purchase of these and will buy again when I run out!!!
Great while it lasted (Feb 12, 2009) Reviewer: Disappointed This seat worked on our vacation. Great. But, the seat didn't last very long. The plastic casing that holds the folding screws cracked - that was the end of the seat. My son was only 29lbs. The seat still looks brand new, probably used it about 10-15 times before it broke. Didn't realize how fragile it was.
Great Product, One Problem (Feb 12, 2009) Reviewer: Mommyof2 This is a fabulous product! As soon as I opened it, my son used right away. His first time standing up. I would have rated it 5 stars 3 times over for how great it works. But we have had it for close to 6 months now and my son can't use it - he is too tall for this urinal but not tall enough to stand using a normal toilet. No matter which he tries his pee flies everywhere! I am disappointed this product wasn't something that could grow with him a little. Now he'll only go sitting. :-(
Love this!!! (Jan 10, 2009) Reviewer: C Orchards Training my 3rd son has been really easy but even easier with this great invention! My little guy loves, loves, loves this and gets excited to use it. He also likes to dump it when he is done. Keep the Lysol/Clorox/Costco wipes ready because it tends to get pee on the brace that connects to the potty and some is still in the urinal itself as well. Such a great tool for potty training!!!!
Loved these over gerber (Feb 12, 2009) Reviewer: Danica's Mommy I bought these and the gerber version, since I'm new at this. These hands down are the better choice. They are thicker, softer, and hold more. The wetness stays on the child and doesn't run down the leg nearly as fast as the gerber. I want my daughter to feel the discomfort of the wetness and not just have it end up on the floor as soon as she goes.
GREAT WEEMAN (Feb 12, 2009) Reviewer: PROUD DAD WOW! THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT MY SUM WAS PEEING LIKE DAD (ME) IN A WEEK. ALL HIS FRIENDS LIKE TO USE THE WEEMAN WHEN THEY VISIT AND NOW HE EVEN USES URINALS AT PUBLIC TOILETS TOO. HE EVEN PEES IN FRONT OF HIS FRIENDS IN THE GARDEN NOW! THANKS WEEMAN
Not thrilled (Sep 14, 2016) Reviewer: Rebecca Emerson This might be better for really little guys. It hangs pretty low and given the shape is not ideal for containing a wild spray. I also am not thrilled about how it empties, if you aren't super careful, it makes a mess and is designed to not be particularly easy to rinse so you either constantly snap the thing with residual wet pee in it off risking a bit of spray or just leave it with that residual pee in it. Don't really like it at all.
WeeMan Potty Training Urinal by Potty Scotty (Nov 16, 2015) Reviewer: Ranald FELL Got for my grandson to start potty training. He is 2 1/2 and now rips off his dry diaper and runs to the bathroom to use his WeeMan Potty Training Urinal by Potty Scotty. It is a wonderful item and big help in this process.
Really wanted this to work :( (Nov 03, 2015) Reviewer: Shirley Morisse My 3 yr old twin grandsons really need something like this as they only want to stand up to pee. But this little urinal is way too small! The splash back is bad and they can almost overflow it. Then when they dump it, it runs over the top edges when it is lifted up, missing the toilet and making a mess on the floor. The photo is misleading as the product is WAY smaller than it shows.
Just what I needed! (Mar 18, 2016) Reviewer: Gema Guaigua I am so glad I came across this item. I was on the hunt for a urinal that would be simple to attach and clean. I didnt want any of those suction ones for fear it wont stick. This item is just what my son needed. It is nice and deep and I like how the sides curve up to prevent splashing. I purchased it with the standard size tab and even though it doesnt fully "click" on it still stays put. My son actually enjoys attaching it and sliding it to his desired location on the toilet, so it is interactive for him. Very pleased with my purchase.
It WORKED! (Nov 29, 2008) Reviewer: Dee I had tried almost everything to get my 3 year old son potty trained (my other advice is start around 2 when boys aren't in such an independent mode!). He just didn't seem to want to do #2 on the potty. Well, this Wee Man isn't about #2, but he caught on so fast to #1 and loved his independence that he started telling us when he needed to #2 on the toilet and no longer wanted his pullups! No pull ups once we started (except for at night). First day with Wee Man, we had 2 accidents, second day 1 accident, today none! (all were #1 accidents) I'm just AMAZED!!!!! I have to admit that I'm not thrilled with a urinal in my bathrooms, but it worked and he's not so at risk of getting hit by the lid, falling in, etc. so I'll deal. He'll be tall enough for the toilet someday. He also really likes that he can empty it himself. It does have pee left on it so I keep lysol wipes near by.
Awesome invention (Jun 11, 2012) Reviewer: heather I bought this for my almost three year old little boy, he is being potty trained and goes both pee and poop in the potty.

He started wanting to go like daddy and would go in the bathroom on his own and try. The regular toilet was just too tall. This urinal has been great. He can go more independently and I think it helps him want to be a big boy more. Also, I have a nine month old son who will use this when he is older, so it was a great investment!
Great WeeMan! (Nov 29, 2008) Reviewer: Gwen My son started to use the WeeMan when he was about 22 months old. He just loves it. I taught him to stand with both legs touching the bowl and not to move till he is finished peeing. He does great at it. I think his favorite part is tipping the pee into the big toilet and flushing it. It's a great product for our little men.
Love the Urinal! (Oct 15, 2012) Reviewer: Amy Jones

Love the urinal. It's our second one and works wonderful for potty training!!

great (Feb 02, 2015) Reviewer: Amy We tried 3 styles of potties before the urinal and my son hated them all and would not use them. He loves being able to stand and pee like daddy. I'm so glad I found it.
Great Product (Jul 28, 2011) Reviewer: Leanna I ordered this for my 2 year son. It is a great training tool. I remove it and clean it each time. Simply flushing the toilet with it in there doesn't do it for me. I ordered it with the Euro clip and received both so no problems fitting it to the toilet. I wish I knew about this product with my first son!
Love this thing! (Sep 04, 2014) Reviewer: Brandy Delves Our potty training efforts were NOT paying off and I couldn't figure out why.. he was ready, he knew what I was asking, but he wouldn't sit. Then one day he dragged a stool over to the toilet and tried to go "like daddy". Light bulb moment (and a heck of a clean-up). Got one of these babies and he's happily peeing in Scotty Potty! I just ordered two more, one for the daycare and one for grandma's house. Love this thing!
Waterproof pull on pants for girls (May 31, 2012) Reviewer: Shelly Did not work at work. Moisture came right through.
GREATEST PRODUCT!!!! (May 10, 2011) Reviewer: Lisa After I opened the box of the WeeMan Potty Training Urinal, I clicked it onto the toilet. My son looked at it for literally 20 min. after opening the box that he said "I went pee pee in it!" Thank you so much for your fantastic product. I don't know how it got him to go, even though he didn't seem interested before that day, but now he uses it all the time. Customer service was fantastic, and rushed out a bigger clip so that it could fit better on our toilet. Wonderful company.
finally something that works for my son! (Jun 08, 2011) Reviewer: Stacie So far so good. He has finally become interested in peeing on the potty! Love it
Perfect for less mess (Dec 17, 2013) Reviewer: Tonya My dear 2 year old wanted to stand and go like his 4 year old brother. This led to many cleanups and a smelly bathroom. When he did sit, it was just as bad but would get his clothes too. With our new Scotty potty, our bathroom is cleaner and I'm not constantly cleaning up incidents. It makes others using that toilet a little tricky but is still worth it. His brother can still use the toilet with it on.
Awesome! (Feb 17, 2013) Reviewer: Amber Mathews These training pants work perfectly! They hold a lot of potty (they hold more after being washed 3-4 times) My daughter wears these with rubber pants over them and they work better then pull-ups.
Bemis Toilet Seat Reducer is NICE! my son sits on toilet (Feb 15, 2013) Reviewer: Jimmy Kim i tried other toilet seat but my son refuse to sit on it because it was uncomfortable. but my son sit on this toilet seat reducer and i am not having any difficulties to potty train him. it make me easier!!!
Excellent product! (Jan 06, 2009) Reviewer: Liz I love this potty chair because it is so convenient. We never have to worry about unsanitary public bathrooms or accidents in the car. I use it for my potty trained 3 year old and my nearly 2 year old who is just starting to potty train. It is really useful when you begin the potty training process because you always have a potty chair wherever you are. I recommend it to all my friends with toddlers. And the price is a steal!
Absolutely wonderful! (Nov 29, 2008) Reviewer: MJ I'm not sure I would have personally rated this so great, but my 35 month old daughter can't get enough of this video and it causes her to go on the potty everytime she watches it! The first time I played it, she asked to see it FIVE times in a row before I insisted we stop watching the tv! Since then, EVERY time she has watched it, she has gone pee pee on the potty. Ok, one time she peed on the couch instead of the potty, but hey, all the other times she made it to the potty first! I checked this out from the library, but ended up buying it when I saw how much she loves it. It does disturbingly talk about how much the bear loves his diapers at first, but that does not seem to take away from how excited he is when he switches to big boy underwear instead. My daughter loved her diapers too, so I think it just helps her relate. She always laughs at that part. I highly recommend this.
Wonderful product (Jul 05, 2014) Reviewer: Abby Valetta I bought this urinal and my 2 1/2 yr old potty trained in a week.It is so convenient.I highly recommend.
not ready (Nov 28, 2010) Reviewer: loretta my son does not want to even try to use is! not ready to be trained yet.
